The Essential Eight

A glimpse into my eight core pillars of plant-based nutrition.

Fiber

Fiber is America’s shortfall ingredient with about 95% of us not getting enough of it from our diets. I'm talking whole, plant foods. A diverse range of fruit, veggies, beans, seeds, and whole grains. 

Greens Greens Greens

In my program, I recommend at least 4-6 cups of leafy greens in day. To serve for endless benefits such as brain health, bone health, hormonal health, immunity, and overall wellbeing. I teach clients how to incorporate greens into just about any dish imaginable.

Plant Diversity

Whole plant foods are never demonized in this program. A diverse range of plants is the cornerstone to my essential 8. No calorie or carb counting here - the more plants, the better. Try new recipes, build healthy routines, and diversify the gut microbiome.

Hydration

We all know that drinking water is beneficial. But getting hydration via plants is incredibly important. Quench your thirst with the added benefits of antioxidants, fiber, and phytonutrients. Think cucumbers, melons, citrus, squash, etc.

Fermented Foods

Fermented foods are a great way to get natural probiotics (which are microorganisms that live within the gut). A diet rich in fermented foods not only increases microbiome diversity, but also improves immune responses.

Food as Fuel

I look at food as fuel. It's not something to ever feel guilty about. The food you'll be eating in my program will allow you to eat in abundance while providing natural energy, regularity, better sleep, and more.

Movement

Movement and diet go hand in hand. As I agree a plant-based diet is key to sustainable health; movement is second in importance on my list. I work with clients to bring movement of all sorts into their everyday routines. 

Detox

We will focus on nutrient density and avoiding chemicals, highly processed foods, and any unnecessary additives. In addition to nutrition we will go beyond the plate into detoxing your mind, home, skincare routine, and more.
